Overview

A different side of Rinjani, away from the main Senaru and Sembalun trails. Starting near Bayan village, the path climbs through coffee, vanilla and clove gardens into the forest and up to the green crater rim of Gunung Setampol. From camp you look across to Segara Anak Lake and the summit of Rinjani, with sunset and sunrise from the rim — a quieter trek for people who want nature without the crowds.

  • Camp on the green Setampol crater rim (2,608 m)
  • Views across Segara Anak Lake to the summit of Mount Rinjani
  • Trail through local coffee, vanilla and clove gardens
  • Sunset and sunrise, with Mount Agung in Bali on clear mornings
